Hey, I'm Jason

Welcome to High Index Golf – a blog documenting my journey from a 20+ handicap to (hopefully) single digits. If you're a weekend golfer frustrated by inconsistency, bad advice, and equipment that promises miracles but delivers nothing – you're in the right place.

The Short Version

I'm a weekend golfer based in Northern Virginia who picked up the game later in life. Like many high handicappers, I spent years frustrated by my lack of improvement. Then I got serious: invested in lessons, bought tracking technology, and started treating improvement like a project instead of a hope.

This blog is where I share everything I learn along the way.

Why "High Index"?

Because that's what I am. My handicap index is currently 22.4, and I'm not ashamed of it. Most golf content online is made by and for low handicappers. This site is for the rest of us – the 95% of golfers who shoot over 90.

Goals for 2025

  1. Break 90 consistently (3 out of 5 rounds)
  2. Get handicap under 18
  3. Hit 30% greens in regulation
  4. Eliminate the blow-up holes (no more 9s on my card)
